At the end of February, part of the IVY team went to Alicante, Spain, for the Interreg Communication Network (ICON) 2025 meeting. ICON typically occurs once a year and is an excellent opportunity for the Interreg community to connect, exchange ideas and knowledge and strengthen our professional network.
The two-day event featured a comprehensive program covering key topics in Interreg communication. Highlights included sessions such as “Telling the Story of Interreg When It Matters Most,” insights into AI tools for communication, practical advice on crafting effective campaigns, and useful resources like the revamped Interreg.eu portal. Participants also explored platforms like the Interact Academy – offering free certified courses to the public – and Keep.eu, a data-rich resource for designing campaigns, writing articles, creating maps, and more. With many upcoming events and celebrations, the goal of aligning our communication efforts – communicating in consonance – remains at the forefront.
It was truly gratifying to get the chance to learn from and with our colleagues at Interreg Programmes – communicating in consonance and boosting the added value of Interreg in our daily activities is essential, especially considering the timing for the next programming period.
